A Texas Poker Bill introduced to the state legislature this year has officially been killed-for now. Although not exactly voted down (or voted on at all), it was allowed to die through a bureaucratic loophole. House Bill 222, aka “The Texas Poker Bill”, proposed allowing poker games to be legally held at racetracks. The poker games and tournaments would be conducted under the supervision of the Texas Lottery Commission. The version of the Texas Poker Bill that made its way to the Texas legislature was significantly scaled down for an earlier version of the bill that was much broader is scope.

This bill was going to be closely monitored by the Texas Lottery Commission, making sure it stayed in compliance with the bill at hand. The House Bill 222, the bill most everyone called “The Texas Poker Bill” would allow poker games to be conducted at racetracks statewide.

Recently, the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming association delivered a huge lawsuit again a Minnesota agency. It involved the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division and their efforts to prevent online gambling. There latest attempt involved contacting Internet Service Providers and telling them to block nearly 200 gaming sites from users around the state.

One common misconception in online poker is that you cannot read or spot a tell when you’re playing in the internet. But what is a tell? A tell is an involuntary action or movement made by a certain player that may indicate the power or weakness of his or her hand.

The longer a player plays the more tells he has encounter. Each player has their own unique set of tells. But here are some of the most common tells that I saw in my poker career; the shaking hand and chip checking. Players who tends to have a shaking hand when they have a strong hand are mostly new poker players. It indicates that they are excited because they had a big hand. On the other hand, chip checking is the tell of players who hit big and are excited for the outcome of the hand.

Being in control in front of a stressful situation and dealing with difficulties in a calm manner are the main traits of a disciplined person. Thus, discipline means an orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior.

The definition of control or discipline varies but it applies to all aspects of playing poker. Poker players definitely depend on discipline unlike any others.

It’s no secret that there are millions of people every week who choose to use the same national lottery numbers for their entries. Usually, these are birthdays that in many lotteries can only cover part of any possible number choices. One of the most intriguing lawsuits surfaced recently when the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association filed a suit against an agency in Minnesota. The lawsuit was made due to the fact that the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division was trying to prevent online gambling. While it would be hard to do, the AGED was getting Internet service providers to block at least two hundred gaming sites.

The Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA) seeks an injunction against the implementation of the AGED order, citing several counts, including:
